I just bought a pair of so-called plastic travel shoe trees in the store. I must point out that today shoe products and accessories have evolved considerably and are overall much better thought out than before. In summary, I am very happy with my purchase which will be used often given the frequency of my travels.

Wearing between 44 and 45 depending on the brand, I had to choose between 43-44 and 45-46. I finally chose 45-46 and it fits in 44 shoes (limited but it works). The small adjustment wheel is very practical, the shoe trees are light and the plastic doesn't seem too poor quality. I cannot yet comment on the durability of the object but for the moment it is fully validated.

The idea is good but too many corners and sharp edges making installation difficult. For my part, I prefer to take Eco shoe trees, certainly very slightly heavier but ultimately less bulky in a suitcase because they are flatter and rounded.
